**Job Summary**

The CNC Machinistproduces machined parts by setting upandoperatinga computernumerical control (CNC) machine,maintainingquality and safety standards, keepingrecordsandmaintainingequipment and supplies.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Understandwork orders,blue prints,manufacturing orders, and machining parameters

+ Validate material used

+ Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detectmalfunctionsand takeappropriate actions; Know when to replace worntools

+ Listen to machiningoperationin order todetect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems

+ Measure dimensions of finishedwork pieces to ensure conformance to specificationsusing precision measuring instruments, templates,fixturesand knowledge of GDT standards

+ Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as anynecessary further steps

+ Train/Mentorlower levelCNC machinists

+ Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

**Non-Essential Functions** **:**

+ Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

**Minimum Qualifications** **:**

+ Experience:4+yearsof experiencemachiningwith CNC 4 AxisMills

+ Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipmenti.e.micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordination

+ Skills/Abilities: Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail andaccuraterecord keeping

+ Education/Certification:High School Diplomaor equivalent

+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

**Preferred Qualifications** **:**

+ Understanding CNC G Codes

+ Understandingofbasic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry

**Working Conditions** **:**

+ Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

+ Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limitedto:eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

+ May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces,dustor fumes

+ Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary

**_Salary range: $22.10 to $37.84_** **_._** Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
