CAA is looking for a full-time Building Inspector to join our expert team in Carson City. If you're passionate about construction, safety, and working hands-on in the field, this is your chance to build a career with purpose.

What You'll Be Doing:
As a Building Inspector, you'll play a key role in ensuring construction projects-both public and private-are safe, sound, and code-compliant. You'll inspect structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical installations, help enforce codes and regulations, and support both the inspection and plan check processes.

Your Day-to-Day includes:

Performing field inspections to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
Issuing notices for code violations and maintaining thorough inspection records
Assisting at the public counter and supporting plan check processes
Working with contractors, developers, and the public to provide expert guidance


What You Bring to the Team:

Associate's degree in Building Inspection Technology or equivalent experience
Continued education and training in construction inspection practices
At least three years of experience in building inspection, construction, or a related field
ICC Certification as a Building Inspector (preferred but not required)

Bonus if you have experience in:

Structural or residential combination inspections
Electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems
Grading, right-of-way construction, or supervisory/lead roles

What You Know:

National building codes, safety standards, and construction methods
Zoning, land use, grading, and accessibility regulations
Principles of structural design and engineering math
Construction materials, techniques, and inspection best practices

Pay Range: $27.00 - $36.06/hour (DOE)
