Role description: Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal Protection and Control Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior position involves technical leadership, project management, and client engagement in protection and control engineering for utility-scale projects, including renewable energy developments. The role requires collaboration across various engineering disciplines and business units, ensuring project success according to applicable codes and standards.

Role accountabilities:

• Manage and grow the Protection and Control team, overseeing resource planning, quality reviews, and team development.
• Support project development from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support for utility and renewable clients.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and other engineering teams to develop comprehensive design packages.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, or Technical Lead to support business growth and client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct quality assurance, and participate in client meetings to support business development.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans for client development, resource allocation, and project execution.

Travel up to 20% may be required within North America and internationally.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in protection schemes, relay and control design, communication systems, and standards for transmission, substation, and generation systems in utility-scale, developer, or industrial facilities.
• Experience in Power Delivery Protection & Relay Control consultancy, understanding of power delivery, generation, and renewable energy sectors.
• PE License

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
