The Supreme Court of Nevada is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Senior Judge Program Administrator to oversee the daily operations and long-term effectiveness of the Senior Justice and Judge Program. This critical role involves managing judicial assignments, monitoring program performance, and fostering communication across the Judicial Branch, State Bar, and Legislature.

About the Senior Judge Program:

The Senior Judge Program allows the Supreme Court of Nevada to recall retired Justices and Judges to active service. Participation in the program is voluntary, and eligible judges may be appointed to serve in courts across the state. Senior Judges are often assigned to preside over individual cases or assist with multiple matters when a sitting judge is unavailable due to illness, judicial education, a vacancy, or recusal. In addition to filling temporary gaps, Senior Judges may also be deployed to help manage high caseloads in particularly busy jurisdictions, ensuring timely access to justice and maintaining court efficiency. This program plays a critical role in supporting the overall function of Nevada's judiciary by providing experienced judicial resources where and when they are most needed.

Position Overview:

As the Senior Judge Program Administrator, you will coordinate the appointment process for senior judge assignments, oversee program policies and procedures, manage the program budget, and analyze data to identify cost savings and improvements to caseload management. You will serve as a key liaison between the judiciary, court staff, and external stakeholders, helping ensure the program operates smoothly and in alignment with the Court's mission. You will also provide backup support for clerical and administrative functions across various sections of the Administrative Office of the Courts, helping ensure seamless court operations. This position serves as a key liaison between the judiciary, court staff, and external stakeholders and plays an essential role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of judicial services statewide.

This position may require occasional evening or weekend work, along with statewide travel.

After an initial training period, a hybrid remote/in-office work schedule may be available.

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and assign judicial work through the Administrative Order process.
  • Review and process timesheets and travel requests for senior justices and judges.
  • Develop and implement program goals, policies, and performance standards.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including caseload impact and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate communications and logistics between the Supreme Court, senior judges, the Administrative Office of the Courts, and external stakeholders.
  • Support legislative monitoring and research related to judicial matters.
  • Maintain positive relationships with court staff, the State Bar, and members of the Legislature.
  • Administer surveys and analyze performance feedback from participating senior judges and justices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills when interacting with judicial officers, staff, and the public.
  • Prior experience in a legal, court, or judicial environment is strongly preferred.
Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee's household.
