Under the direction of Orthopedics, provides traction care to patients in accordance with hospital policies. This positions works closely with orthopedic and other physicians to ensure proper application and education of traction devices. When a dedicated Cardiology Technician is unavailable, the Orthopedic Technician will assume responsibility for producing high quality EKG tracings and rhythm strips while recognizing atypical EKG patterns and arrhythmias Nature and Scope This position is responsible for the safe application and maintenance of orthopedic equipment. Patient training and education about orthopedic devices will also be required of the incumbent. The incumbent must possess ability to improvise and make maximum use of the facility and equipment with a minimum of direction. Incumbent must maintain all equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
