Pay Information $2,562 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years pediatric experience, prior travel experience License: CA RN Certifications: BLS, PALS, APHON (preferred) Must-Have: - Epic experience - Willingness to float to PICU/NICU Description: Primary position in Pediatrics. Required to float to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Candidate must have experience in administering blood and blood products. Candidate must be skilled in the administration of chemotherapy and anti-seizure medications. Candidate will provide breastfeeding support and handle breast milk. Candidate will manage ports and perform central line blood draws. Candidate must be proficient in handling pediatric medication dosing. Experience with pediatric oncology and pediatric Med/Surg is a plus. Candidate will be responsible for patient ratio management. Strong infection prevention protocols must be followed. Must have a solid understanding of pediatric early warning scores and rapid response team protocols. Knowledge of care and management of indwelling urinary catheters and insulin administration is essential. Monitoring of pediatric patients in telemetry, as well as management of chest tubes, is required. The role includes wound assessment and care. Experience with pediatric symptom management and remote monitoring is needed. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various services including therapy and pharmacy. Candidate must have experience with pediatric diagnoses across a range of specialties. The role includes working with patients undergoing various treatments, excluding trauma. Candidate must be prepared for average census management and patient care delivery. Candidates should be ready to work cooperatively with a variety of healthcare professionals. All certifications must be from recognized bodies and held at the time of submission. References from previous employers are required within the last year.
