The Position
Child Care Facilities Surveyors conduct independent surveys of child care facilities, child welfare emergency shelters, educational facilities, and facilities serving emotionally disturbed children to determine compliance with State licensing regulations (NRS 432A) and to make licensure recommendations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Division of Social Services is seeking to fill a Child Care Facilities Surveyor located in Carson City. The Child Care Facilities Surveyor plays a critical role in ensuring that child care facilities comply with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) and Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 432A. This position is responsible for conducting timely inspections and complaint investigations, enforcing regulatory standards, and supporting public understanding of the licensing process. Additional responsibilities include preparing accurate reports, attending meetings and trainings, participating in special projects, and traveling as needed.
