Why this role

Were looking for a creative and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join our backend team to help us build, innovate, and maintain our integrations with distribution partners. You will plan and execute special projects while supporting ongoing cross-functional operations, owning your work from bug fixes to features, and delivering scalable solutions. You will work closely with Product and cross-functional teams to design and implement world-class solutions.

The ideal candidate is technically savvy, analytical, and process-oriented, able to solve critical business problems in a fast-paced environment. This role is a technical leader that drives operational excellence, enables teammates, and has meaningful impact in hospitality.

What youll do

• Build and maintain APIs and integrations with upstream and downstream consumers
• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support backend solutions
• Lead ecosystem-level design reviews, perform architecture reviews, and document technical decisions
• Improve system reliability, observability, monitoring, and testability
• Work with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to understand problems and requirements
• Collaborate with internal operations teams and external integration partners
• Debug complex multi-system problems and develop effective solutions
• Execute engineering and release priorities with strong leadership and communication
• Drive code reviews, set coding standards, manage third-party integrations, and refine backend processes
• Mentor less experienced developers and promote operational excellence

What makes you a great fit

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Go, Node.js, and 3rd-party integrations
• Experience designing and documenting architecture decisions
• Experience with AWS services (Kubernetes, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS, DynamoDB)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and collaborating with DevOps on CI/CD
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and mentoring abilities
• Independent, proactive, and skilled at debugging
• Effective in code reviews and collaborating on best practices
• Experience with Agile development
• Problem-solving mindset with a full toolkit of debugging tools
• Experience building custom tools to automate tasks
• Experience with Git and repository management (GitLab)

Location

Evolve offers a flexible working environment: remote anywhere in Colorado, our downtown Denver office, or a hybrid of both.

Compensation

Salary range is $141,000 to $184,000, depending on relevant experience. Eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company and individual performance.

Location eligibility

All team members must live in one of our approved locations by day one. We hire from anywhere in the U.S. except Washington, Hawaii, and D.C. Some roles may have restrictions based on state-specific compensation. Colorado residents can work remotely anywhere in the state, at the Denver office, or in a hybrid arrangement.
