We are seeking a dynamic IT Systems Architect Manager to drive technological innovation and process optimization for our North American operations. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will have significant autonomy to discover, evaluate, and implement technology solutions tailored specifically to the unique needs of our North American business units.
While enterprise systems such as SAP are administered by our parent, this position focuses on identifying and implementing innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and support business growth across our US locations. The position will serve as the technology visionary for North American operations, transforming manual processes into streamlined, digital workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with North American business objectives and growth plans
- Collaborate with German headquarters IT team while maintaining autonomy for North American-specific technology initiatives
- Assess and recommend technology solutions that complement existing enterprise systems (SAP, etc.) administered by parent company
- Serve as the primary technology advisor to the CFO and North American leadership team
Process Analysis & Business Optimization
- Conduct thorough assessments of paper-based and manual processes across all operations
- Analyze workflows in sales, service, parts distribution, inventory management, and customer support functions
- Document current state processes and identify opportunities for automation and digitization
- Collaborate with leadership across multiple US locations to understand regional business requirements
- Develop standardized technology deployment procedures and training materials
- Manage technology refresh cycles and equipment standardization initiatives
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to manufacturing, distribution, and service operations
SharePoint & Microsoft 365
- Design and implement comprehensive SharePoint environments for document management, project collaboration, and workflow automation
- Create custom SharePoint solutions including automated approval processes, inventory tracking, and service documentation systems that are mobile device ready.
- Develop Power Platform solutions (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) to enhance business processes
- Implement Teams-based collaboration solutions connecting multiple US locations
- Establish governance frameworks ensuring consistent implementation across all locations
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
- 6-8 years of experience in IT systems architecture, digital transformation, or business process improvement
- Proven track record of leading technology initiatives in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial equipment environments
- Experience working in multi-location or international business environments
- Microsoft 365 & SharePoint: Expert-level knowledge of SharePoint Online, Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI), and Teams implementation. Related certifications are a plus.
- Integration Skills: Experience integrating cloud-based solutions with enterprise systems (SAP knowledge a plus)
- Business Intelligence: Proficiency with reporting and analytics tools for operational and financial insights
- Experience with inventory management, parts distribution, and service management processes a plus
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present to C-level executives
- Experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships
- Strong project management capabilities with international stakeholder coordination
