Hooks Meng & Clement (HMC) is looking for a committed Law Clerk to join our growing Northern Nevada office in Carson City. We specialize in Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense, OSHA Employer Representation, and Industrial Insurance Litigation, serving a diverse clientele that includes employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.

The Law Clerk position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a licensed attorney. The role provides hands-on experience and helps build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on various legal topics and provide summaries of findings to support the firm's attorneys.
• Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Support case management tasks, such as scheduling court appearances, preparing case summaries, and organizing case files.
• Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, as directed by the firm's attorneys.
• Daily use of the electronic billing program, Clio, as well as the case management system, Filevine.

Qualifications:

• Education

  Bachelor's degree and must have graduated from or currently be attending law school.

  Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

• Legal Knowledge

  Basic understanding of the legal system and legal terminology.

  
  

• Must live in the Northern Nevada area, as this is an in-office position.

Compensation: $60,000+ annually
