This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt position with Carson City's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department located in Carson City, Nevada.
This position assists the Recreation Program Manager-Sports with assigned duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: the development, coordination and promotion of sport related programs/clinics and events for youth and adults, training, supervision, and evaluation of seasonal staff, assisting with leagues and tournaments, and daily operations of the Robert "Bob" Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC). This position also acts as the liaison between the Carson City and the Carson City Youth Sports Association. This position is required to work a flexible work schedule that may include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Salary Ranges: Individuals may choose between the following Nevada PERS Retirement plans: Employer-Paid PERS: $24.5270 - $34.3376 hourly / $51,016.16 - $71,422.26 annually Employee/Employer-Paid PERS: $29.5889 - $41.4245 hourly / $61,544.86 - $86,162.96 annually.
This position is covered by the Carson City Employees Association. The current collective bargaining agreement outlines the generous benefits offered to Carson City employees.

Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; AND two (2) years of recreation and/or cultural facility, theater, or community program planning and administration experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Under General Supervision - Incumbents at this level are given assignments and objectives that are governed by specifically outlined work methods and a sequence of steps, which are explained in general terms.
