Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Full Time, Swing Shift; 2nd Shift (3pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday); Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

Location: Reno, Nevada; We are located right off exit 26 on Interstate 580- just 6 miles south of the Reno-Tahoe Airport!

Salary: Rate of pay up to $32 per hour, based on experience. Position level will be determined based on experience and skills.

Summary: Barnes and Noble Reno Distribution Center is HIRING! The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of maintenance duties including, but not limited to, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility systems and material handling equipment. This includes conveyor equipment, motors, gear reducers, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, dock equipment, and other systems critical to warehouse operations. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for ensuring the facility and machinery operate efficiently with minimal downtime and maximum safety. Maintenance Technicians must be able to work independently, partner with other departments, and assist in training fellow team members and Maintenance Assistants.

Minimum/Preferred Requirements:

• Required for All Levels: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; follow directions with accuracy and attention to detail
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around moving machinery
• Familiarity with the use of basic hand/power tools
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; experience with team lifting and proper lifting techniques
• Ability to work at heights and in a variety of environmental conditions (hot, cold, outdoor exposure)
• Strong safety awareness; able to identify and report hazards proactively
