Travel Specialist

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Travel Specialist at our main office in Minden, Nevada.

Pay: starting at $20 an hour. Minden, NV is a small town located in the western part of Nevada, in the Carson Valley, about 15 miles south of Carson City and roughly 45 south of Reno. It serves as the county seat of Douglas County. The area is known for its picturesque landscapes, characterized by the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the west and the Carson Range to the east. Minden itself is a charming, historic town with a population of just under 4,000 people.

What you will do: As the Travel Specialist you are responsible for researching and booking travel arrangements including airline tickets, ground transportation, accommodations and/or vehicle rental for Rite of Passage staff, students, parents and affiliated agencies in accordance with ROP policies and procedures. Supports travel specialist at other ROP locations as needed. Coordinates with ROP sites and admissions staff regarding student and parent travel to ensure the most cost effective use of time. Tracks parent travel to ensure compliance with contractual requirements/limitations. Distributes itineraries and notifies appropriate parties of any changes. Contacts hotels to negotiate corporate rates. Logs and maintains master travel schedule. Updates conference room travel board for weekly meeting reference. Codes all invoices, and reconciles all credit cards relating to travel.

To be considered you should: High school diploma or equivalent ~ Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications ~ If required to operate vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirement to be an eligible ROP driver ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position requires on-call availability after regular business hours.
