Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure qualitycontrol by managing specimen accession processes accurately.
• Augment diagnostic accuracy by compiling and documenting relevant clinical histories.
• Prepare tissue specimens for histological analysis by describing anatomical features and performing precise dissections.
• Collect biological samples for analysis, including viral and blood cultures, and conduct specialized procedures such as tumor triage and coronary artery perfusion.
• Capture and document images of significant gross specimens and microscopic slides.
• Maintain administrative records of surgical pathology protocols, ensuring all reports, protocols, and slides are accurately filed and coded.
• Support accurate postmortem examinations through preparation and documentation.
• Participate in the Quality Management Committee to drive continuous quality improvements.
• Address and resolve case-related issues, assisting pathologists in achieving precise diagnostic outcomes.
• Manage the departmental staffing schedule to maintain seamless operations.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and productivity.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science.
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.

• Open to recent graduates from accredited Pathologists' Assistant programs.

• Pass a visual color discrimination test.
• Complete annual continuing education units as per state licensure and/or ASCP guidelines.
