Job Description The Senior Manager of Human Resources provides senior-level operational leadership, coordination, and administration of human resources programs and services for NSHE System Administration and System Computing Services. Reporting to and operating in support of the Director of Human Resources and working in collaboration with the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position assists with the implementation and administration of HR strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure effective, compliant, and consistent human resources operations across assigned units.
This position provides advanced-level expertise and guidance in key functional areas including employee relations, recruitment and talent acquisition, classification and compensation, benefits administration, leave management, payroll and personnel transactions, and compliance with applicable NSHE policies, procedures, and employment regulations. The role administers and oversees a variety of HR processes within the Workday system, including electronic contracts, personnel records management, and employment-related transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
In support of the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Manager assists with the coordination and implementation of HR programs, supports departmental initiatives, and helps address complex human resources matters. The position also supports recruitment efforts, onboarding and benefits orientations, employee evaluation processes, and internal and external HR reporting requirements.
The Senior Manager serves as a key HR resource to managers and employees within System Administration and System Computing Services, providing consultation, guidance, and support to promote effective HR practices, sound workforce management, and alignment with the operational and workforce objectives of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
