Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections to monitor and record data from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to guarantee 24/7 reliability and availability.

  • Oversee Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS).

  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level issues in line with internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).

  • Manage rack installations and decommissioning within internal SLA timelines.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.

  • Engage in technical documentation to support the change management program.

  • Process daily work requests, manage resolutions, and lead projects from inception to completion.

  • Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors, ensuring all work adheres to established practices and local legislation.

  • Be flexible with work schedules, including potential shifts of up to 12-hours and on-call rotations.

  • Be prepared to support multiple locations/sites as needed.

Work Schedule: Our Data Centers operate 24/7 and require on-site presence. This role offers two shift schedule options:

  • Weekend Rotation: Work Sunday - Tuesday, plus every other Saturday; shifts alternate between 3-day and 4-day weeks (5:30am - 6:00pm for day shift or 5:30pm - 6:00am for night shift).

  • Weekday Rotation: Work Wednesday - Friday, plus every other Saturday; shifts alternate between 3-day and 4-day weeks (5:30am - 6:00pm for day shift or 5:30pm - 6:00am for night shift).

Both schedules will consist of a rotating pattern of 3-days one week and 4-days the following week.

Compensation: Overtime available at time and a half after 40 hours. Night Shift Differential: receive an additional 13% for shifts from 6:00pm - 6:00am. Maximum total hours per week can reach 60, including up to 20 hours of overtime.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Regularly lift up to 39 pounds independently.

  • Participate in group lifting for objects over 40 pounds.

  • Maintain balance on ladders and perform various construction tasks.

  • Engage in walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, twisting, bending, and more.

  • Work in environments requiring ear protection.

About the Role: You will be the first line of support for electrical and mechanical equipment with a focus on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting under the supervision of a Data Center Facility Manager (FM). Your responsibilities will include maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting critical facility equipment, from generators and electrical systems to mechanical systems like chillers and pumps, as well as fire safety and building automation systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours.

  • 2+ years of experience with electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.

  • Flexibility to maneuver and work in various positions including using ladders and navigating uneven terrain.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of network design and low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.

  • Experience in data center engineering roles.

The base salary range for this position is between $33.00 - $65.00/hour. Your compensation package will include stock options and a variety of benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Final compensation will be based on your experience, qualifications, and location.
