Description:

Role Overview

As a Master Data Specialist, you will serve as a key owner of critical operational data that supports our production, engineering, and supply chain processes. This role is responsible for ensuring that core data (e.g., items, BOMs, routings, and related structures) accurately reflects real world manufacturing processes and can be trusted as a system of record across the organization.

You'll play a hands on role in maintaining, validating, and improving data within enterprise systems, helping ensure that downstream teams, from engineering to operations, can make informed, reliable decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Ownership & Integrity

  • Maintain and update high volume master data across enterprise systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with real-world processes
  • Act as a steward of data quality by identifying discrepancies, performing audits, and driving data cleansing and validation efforts
  • Ensure master data serves as a reliable "system of truth" for cross functional teams

Operational Data Support

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure data structures (e.g., BOMs, routings, part data) accurately reflect production workflows
  • Support day to day data needs of the business, including updates, corrections, and continuous maintenance

Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate and analyze reports to validate data accuracy, identify trends, and surface issues impacting operations
  • Support business users in retrieving and understanding data through reporting or query based tools

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve data management processes, workflows, and standards
  • Help establish and reinforce best practices for data entry, maintenance, and governance

Systems & Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work across enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, MES, PLM, or similar platforms) to ensure alignment of data across tools
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to resolve data issues and support system enhancements

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience working with large scale, business critical data environments (not limited to ERP)
  • Experience managing, maintaining, or analyzing data within enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, MES, PLM, WMS, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, validation, and governance principles
  • Experience supporting operational or production focused teams (e.g., manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or similar)
  • Ability to work hands on with data, including auditing, correcting, and maintaining records on a regular basis
  • Experience using reporting, querying, or data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams

Preferred

  • Experience working with product or manufacturing data such as BOMs, routings, or item master data
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite)
  • Experience in manufacturing or other operationally complex environments
  • Familiarity with data governance practices or data quality initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who takes ownership of data and understands its impact on the business
  • Comfortable working in a hands on, detail oriented role with repetitive data management responsibilities
  • Able to think beyond data entry...understanding how data is used, reported on, and relied upon across the organization
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and can bridge the gap between systems and operations
