My client is a top global Data Center Real Estate Developer and Owner. They have a $40BN+ development pipeline that they are ready to execute on. Although they have expanded on a global level, North America is still their main area of Operations and where they have most of their active construction.

They are one of the most exciting developers in the industry and are looking to bring someone in to run their 2GW campus in Reno, NV from cradle to grave.

THE POSITION:

My client are seeking a Director of Construction with extensive Data Center Construction experience, to lead greenfield builds on a 2GW campus. They are looking for an individual that has the capability to oversee the timely delivery of these builds within budget, while leading teams of top construction professionals.

You would have full autonomy to grow and develop the team around you, while reporting directly into Senior Leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead multiple hyperscale Data Centers builds on a 2GW from cradle to grave.
  • Managing the GC's on site as well as managing Sub-Contractors.
  • Working with the on-site GC and leading proposals/presentations.
  • Manage Client relations as required, including interface with their funding partner and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for project performance - financial, schedule, quality, contractual and administrative.
  • Prepare/edit proposals, design, scope, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for Quarterly Construction Reports to present to the board.
  • Lead, manage, mentor and develop project teams across the campus, fostering and championing a collaborative and high-morale culture

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years' Mission Critical construction experience.
  • Minimum 10 years' construction management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Exceptional Data Center technical knowledge, including OFCI/CFCI equipment, MEP and Core and Shell.
  • Strong stakeholder/client relationship management experience.
  • Ability to travel to construction sites as frequently as needed.
  • Experience with large-scale, fast-moving projects and a proven track-record of developing a collaborative and high-morale team culture.
  • Strong leadership skills, high emotional intelligence, and a proven track record in leading, managing and developing teams.
