How You Will Create the Extraordinary

  • Oversee all disciplinary action and training initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
  • Consistently demonstrate Harrah's and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe properties core values and service standards and hold the team members and Supervisor's to these standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations; particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Know all liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections available to the Beverage department as well as specifications of glassware, garnishes for drinks, and daily specials.
  • Inspect, plan, and ensure that all materials and equipment are ready for service. Contact engineering if needed.
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness. Maintain par levels, complete requisitions based off business demands.
  • Assign work and side duties to team members in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Recruit and interview potential candidates who demonstrate Harrah's and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe properties core values.
  • Inspect team member uniforms and grooming in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with Supervisors and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
  • Organize, coordinate, and direct team members in set-up, service, and break down of special events in accordance with department standards. Follow up on special arrangements with respective personnel.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts due to hotel occupancy and in house group activities.
  • Reviews and administers all casino beverage team member weekly work schedules.
  • Understand P.O.S. hardware and software programming; as well as develop and maintain manual back up system and procedures.
  • Maintain positive relations with Guests and Team Members and resolve all complaints through Guest/ Team Member recovery ensuring satisfaction; along with submitting a report to the Director of Beverage Operations.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of an Assistant Beverage Manager.

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years Food & Beverage experience
  • Two years supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge in Food & Beverage cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to perform intermediate math.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience. Minimum 6 years Beverage experience.

  • Mobility to move quickly around the property
  • Visual and auditory range must include immediate environment
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment
