Financial Controller (Dual-Entity Oversight)

Location: Reno, NV preferred or Pacific Time Zone (remote strongly considered)

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Controller to oversee the financial operations of two growing businesses. This role will lead an existing accounting team, ensure financial accuracy and discipline, and provide strategic financial insight to support continued growth.

The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and business-minded—someone who can own the numbers while also helping leadership understand what they mean and what to do next. Experience with a growing manufacturing business is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Reporting

?Own the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements for both entities

?Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across both companies

?Review and analyze financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities

?Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting to the CFO and leadership team

Team Leadership & Process Management

?Manage and partner with the existing accounting team (AP, AR, GL, etc.)

?Ensure strong internal controls, policies, and scalable processes are in place

?Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows, systems, and reporting

?Coordinate cross-entity consistency while respecting each business's nuances

?Ensure accounting and policies are in line with a successful manufacturing business

Operational & Strategic Support

?Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

?Support cash flow management and working capital optimization

?Provide financial insights to support decision-making across both businesses

?Drive ownership in our accounting department's accuracy and response times to customers when necessary

Compliance & Audit

?Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements

?Manage external audits and third-party relationships (tax firm)

?Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready financials at all times

Qualifications

?Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)

?7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles

?Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a multi-entity environment

?Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

?Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams

?Experience working with growing or scaling companies is highly preferred

?Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Excel (QBO experience a plus)
