JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST (PRSS) DEPARTMENT: CLINICAL DEPARTMENT LOCATION (S): CARSON CITY, DAYTON, ELKO, RENO SUPERVISOR: PROGRAM COORDINATOR / CLINICAL SUPERVISOR JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing mentoring and Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) for seriously mentally ill (SMI) and/or consumers/residents with Substance Use Disorders. Services are provided in an integrated behavioral health setting with a person-centered and recovery-oriented approach to care. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide individualized recovery coaching to consumers in obtaining their recovery objectives. Facilitates groups/classes to support improved recovery outcomes for consumers/residents. Teaches others about managing their mental and recovery health. Supports consumers/residents in learning how to make good choices for themselves. Works closely with clinicians to engage consumers in appropriate services and resources to assist in care coordination. Attending integrated meetings as needed to effectively mentor individuals care. Completed documentation accurately in a timely manner (within 24 hours of time of service provided) and scheduling a follow up appointment in electronic health record. Be familiar and follow the Code of Ethics as stated in NAC 641 C as provided during training. Complies with confidentiality requirements as set forth in CFR42 Part II and HIPPA regulations. Communicates positively and effectively. Provide individualized and group life skills through interventions to consumers in obtaining their recovery objectives to restore the individual to their highest level of functioning. Must be available to perform after hours crisis phone management and on call duties as scheduled on a rotational basis. Other duties as assigned. Must comply with confidentiality requirements as set forth in CFR42 Part I & II and HIPAA regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: Must provide certification at time of employment. A valid Nevada Driver License and proof of insurance. Must have an acceptable driving record. Capable of responding to consumer's/resident's needs in a variety of situations. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. Must consistently provide a negative drug screen from illicit substances. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Vitality Unlimited policies and procedures. Must possess and show aptitude for following direction. Personal history of being in active recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder. EDUCATION: High school Degree or GED. Current Peer Certification preferred but able to demonstrate enrollment in a Nevada Certification Program within ninety (90) days of employment.
