This position is located at Northern Nevada Correctional Center and is responsible for warehouse operations. The Supply Technician 2 supervises, schedules and evaluates, performance of employees, supervises offender workers, tracks, and reconciles inventory, documents inventory loss, packs and returns damaged goods and incorrect items, receives, stores, issues and ships supplies, maintains receiving and shipping records, operates equipment such as a forklift, electric pallet jacks, and hand trucks. This position may review and make recommendations to operational procedures to improve workflow and output, review, revise and approve desktop procedures, initiates informal bids and submits requisitions for supplies and parts, communicates, and collaborates with vendors, the public, and staff in diverse roles and locations.
Supply Technicians participate in the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing, shipment, property control, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of assets.
Two or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.

Ability to: analyze technical computer data related to purchasing and stores operations; negotiate with vendors regarding desired quality, warranty, price, and delivery date of supplies and materials; review inventories and identify and research discrepancies; prepare purchasing specifications for equipment and supplies. Train and provide work direction to others.
