The ability to drive a counterbalance forklift (stand up) safely, in and out of trailers and down narrow aisles are important pre-requisites for this position. The ability to work with others and organizational skills are key attributes needed to be successful in this role.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, perform vehicle safety checks of the lifts and report discrepancies to supervisorAlways utilize proper radio etiquette consistent with CPS Values.Create pallet labels in inventory for production trackingAbility to use pallet jack to move packaging and finished goods around the WarehouseMaintain a clean and safe work environmentMaintain strong communication with all DepartmentsAssist in organizing and maintaining Warehouse areaRe-palletizing finished goods when neededTransferring pallets from Production to Warehouse for storageResponsible for creating and maintaining proper written documentationMust be willing to work occasional overtime and weekends as determined by Warehouse SupervisorFollow and comply with all applicable plant policies, GMP's, SOP's, SSOP's, SQF, safety procedures and HACCP programsConduct all work in a safe and productive manner. Maintain a friendly and team-oriented attitude under normal and stressful circumstancesPerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Skills:High School Diploma or Equivalent2+ years of standup forklift operating experienceMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Good written and verbal communication skillsMust have great attention to detailAbility to take feedback constructively and function in a team-oriented work environmentConcise communication with co-workers and management to promote teamwork atmosphereMust be fluent in English, as well as be able to read documents in English such as SOP's and operating manualsConceptual skills and problem-solving abilitiesThe ability to multitaskMust have general knowledge of computersDemonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure understanding of written procedures, safety instructions, technical documentation, and verbal communications.Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and use of weights and measures. Must be comfortable using a calculatorFamiliarity with basic computer systems and control interfacesBasic understanding of food production and food safety principles is a plusTeam-oriented attitude; respectful, approachable, honest, dependable, and adaptable to change. Capable of resolving conflicts professionallyAble to prioritize tasks and remain productive under shifting demandsFollows both written and verbal instructions accuratelyHighly motivated, reliable, and hands-on with a strong problem-solving mindsetAble to identify and address inconsistencies or quality issues with accuracy and precisionPhysical Demands:Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours during peak periods or critical operationsMust possess adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to meet essential job performance and safety standards.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and using hands for detailed tasksPhysically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools, including pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and standard material handling and cleaning equipmentCapable of safely lifting up to 55 pounds frequently throughout the day; ability to handle heavier items with proper lifting equipment or team-assisted techniques to ensure safetyWork Environment:Employees must be able to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilation. Work environment may involve exposure to inclement weather.
